That's that i did for my game NOTE i can almost build any ship but the 1st rate and a few other ships not worth saying.
Step 4 = DON"T use a ship like 1st rate or any large ships bigger then a brig (again your choice) because these ships are for big ship fights and dealing hugh amounts of damage plus there very slow Step 3 = have a empty inventory (your choice) so you can get bits of cargo here and there Step 2 = Go to any shoreline that is of great length without too many turns (stay out of combat if you what this to be fast and less damaging to the ship) also use the fast forward button Step 1 = Get a fats ship and upgrade it so it and move faster (i used a brig did like 16knots) I've been playing for a good 30 hours and i find this to be the best way.
